We believe that it is the right of every person to have access to information. Today only about one in five enjoy this. Access to information is so basic that our freedoms, our choices, our economic well being and the quality of our future depend on it.

There is no there human endeavor that has the implications that access to information has. We believe that it is the defining moment of our age and if we succeed in providing access to information, it will be the greatest contribution to solving global problems,local problems and learning to value each other as co-residents of our planet

GMF is based on the belief that access to the right tools is one of the surest ways out of the cycle of poverty. There are many tools that are needed to accomplish this objective. Our primary focus in on a modern tool - the computer.

The computer, at its best, affords access to information, access to broad based communication and access to the tools of creative expression. "Knowledge is power" is an expression of this but the computer offers far more than simple access to information. It offers amazing potential for communications and through communications comes friendships and understanding.

The computer offers the tools of self expression as well. Tools for writing, tools for making media are all part of what permits us all to be more than consumers but to become fully engaged as creators of information as well.
You will find many kinds of people associated with GMF. Some are for altruistic reasons, some are involved for religious reasons and some are here out of pure curiosity.
We hold tightly to the idea that if we are called to do something, we must do it. Anything less diminishes us as human beings.
