Mandate and Mission

The prime mandate of the Gerry Morgan Foundation is to work toward full and unfettered access to information, tools of communication and tools of creative expression and in doing so level the playing field that has become known as the digital divide.

The mission is not just about supplying computers to those who do not have them. It is to provide the basis for everyone to have 'access that desires access'. This will require a great effort in not just supply hardware and software but to make sure that people receive the information that is appropriate to their needs in order to be a benefactor of the effort.

Constitutionally our mandate is as follows:1. The purposes of the society are: a. To provide technologies to schools and communities in the countries that Ink Media operates in, b. To provide grants to organizations for the purposes of setting up schools and community organizations designed to enhance social and economic development, c. To provide grants to organizations dedicated to promoting racial tolerance and the non use of illicit drugs, alcohol and tobacco, d. To promote educational research pertaining to developing nations and world development research, e. To provide bursaries and scholarships to education, economics and political science students who demonstrate an interest in global development issues through their action, and, f. To provide research grants for emerging technologies that have a positive impact on the development of physical and social infrastructure.
